रावण
रावण का अर्थ दूसरों को रुलाने वाला | रावण ने अपने जीवन काल में अपनी आसुरी शक्तियों के बल पर सबको रुलाने के अलावा कुछ नहीं किया | रावण के पिताजी विश्रवा जो ब्रह्मा जी के पौत्र तथा मुनि पुलत्स्य के पुत्र थे ने उसके पैदा होते भगवान को दुहाई दी की मुझसे क्या अनर्थ हो गया क्योंकि पैदा होते ही उसके आसुरी अटटहास ने धरती को हिला दिया तथा अशुभ संकेत होने लगे |
उसी दुष्ट रावण को आज कलयुग में महापंडित कहकर महामंडित किया जा रहा है, किंतु क्या सच में रावण इस आदर के योग्य है? उस रावण की दुष्ट विशेषताओं को अपनाने से पहले या उनको महा मंडित करने से पहले विस्तारपूर्वक रावण को जानना बहुत जरूरी है |

रावण के नाना सोमाली बहुत कपटी राक्षस था | राक्षसों के गुरु शुक्राचार्य के साथ मिलकर वह सदा राक्षसों को अधिक ताकतवर बनाने के विचार तथा टोटके करता रहता था | सुमाली इतना धूर्त था की उसने अपनी पुत्री कैकसी को पुलतस्य मुनि के पुत्र विश्रवा को रिझाने के लिए भेजा | कैकसी ने छल कपट से अपना परिचय छुपाया और मायावी स्वांग किया | विश्रवा मुनी होते हुए भी अपने संयम को संभाल ना सके और उन्होंने कैकसी से गन्धर्व विवाह कर लिया | विश्रवा मुनी के तेज़ से ही रावण , कुंभकर्ण तथा विभीषण का जन्म हुआ | नाना सुमाली को रावण सबसे प्रिय था तथा विश्रवा मुनी के तीनों पुत्रों में रावण ही में ही आसुरी शक्तियां बहुत प्रबल थी | कैकसी ने अपने पुत्रों की उत्पत्ति के पश्चात ही ऋषि को बताया कि वह राक्षस कुल से है तब विश्वास को बहुत ग्लानि हुई और कालांतर में तपस्या के लिए चले गए | ऋृषि के प्रताप से रावण बुद्धिमान था तथा कैकसी की आसुरी माया के कारण मायावी तथा दुष्ट प्रकृति का भी था | अपने नाना सुमाली की छत्रछाया में रावण ने ब्रह्मा जी को प्रसन्न करके अनेक सिद्धियाँ प्राप्त करीं | गुरु शुक्राचार्य जो राक्षसों के गुरु थे सुमाली उन्हीं का अनुसरण करता था और रावण सुमाली का अनुसरण करता था| प्रचंड शक्तियों के स्वामी रावण का अभिमान दिन-ब-दिन बढ़ता चला गया और उसी अभिमान के कारण ही उसकी मृत्यु हुई | रावण ने साधु-संतों , देवी-देवताओं को अपने दुराचार व अत्याचार से बहुत दुखी किया | सुमाली की कुटिल योजना सफल होती चली गई और राक्षसों का वर्चस्व बढ़ता चला गया |
Somali, Rana's maternal grandfather, was a very insidious monster. Together with Shukracharya, the guru of the demons, he always kept thinking and tricks to make the demons more powerful. Sumali was so cunning that he sent his daughter Kaikasi to placate Vishvarava, the son of Pulatasya Muni. Kaikasi hid his intro with deceit and pretended to be elusive. Despite Vishwa Muni not being able to handle his sobriety and he married Gandharva with Kaikasi. Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Vibhishan were born by Vishwa Muni fast. Rana was loved by Nana Sumali and among all the three sons of Vishrava Muni, Ravana itself had very strong demonic powers. After the birth of his sons, Kaikasi told the sage that he belonged to the demon clan, then the faith became very defiant and later went to penance. Ravan was intelligent due to the greatness of the sage and was also elusive and evil in nature due to the devilish Maya of Kaikasi. Under the umbrella of his maternal grandfather Sumali, Ravana pleased Brahma and attained many achievements. Guru Shukracharya, the guru of demons, Sumali followed him and Ravana followed Sumali. The pride of Ravana, the lord of great powers, grew day by day and due to that pride he died. Ravana made the sadhus and saints, gods and goddesses very sad with their misconduct and tyranny. Sumali's devious plan went on succeeding and the domination of the demons increased.

वैसे तो रावण बहुत शक्तिशाली था किन्तु त्रेता युग में और भी शक्तिशाली विभूतियाँ थीं | रावण से भी शक्तिशाली सहस्त्रबाहु और वानर राज बाली ने उसे परास्त किया था | इसी कारण बार-बार अपनी शक्ति बढ़ाने के लिए वह उसने अनेक बार तपस्या की | ब्रह्मा जी को प्रसन्न करने के पश्चात और शक्तियां प्राप्त करने के उद्देश्य से वह भगवान शंकर की शरण में गया और घनघोर तपस्या के द्वारा शंकर जी से पाशुपात अस्त्र तथा अनेक सिद्धियों को प्राप्त किया |

That is why he did penance several times to increase his power repeatedly. After pleasing Brahma ji and with the aim of attaining powers, he went to the shelter of Lord Shankar and through fierce austerity received Pashupat weapon and many siddhis from Shankar ji.

राक्षसी शक्तियों के बल पर रावण ने अपने ही सौतेले भाई कुबेर से लंका तथा पुष्पक विमान को छीन लिया और तीनों लोगों में हाहाकार मचा दिया | यहां तक कि रावण ने अपने भतीजे नल कुबेर की पत्नी अप्सरा रंभा का भी यौनाचार किया तथा जब नल कुबेर को पता चला कि तो नल कुबेर ने रावण को शाप दिया कि रावण फिर कभी किसी स्त्री के साथ ऐसा दुस्साहस करे तो उसके सर के सौ टुकड़े हो जाएंगे | बलात्कारी रावण ने इससे पहले भी वेदवती नामक तपस्वनी के साथ यौनाचार करना चाहा तब वेदवती ने उसकी नियत को भांपकर अपनी तपस्या के बल पर खुद को भस्म कर लिया और श्राप दिया की एक स्त्री ही तपस्वनी रूप मैं तेरा काल बनकर पृथ्वी पर जन्म लेगी | रावण ने कभी स्त्री जाती का सम्मान नहीं किया अनेको स्त्रियों का उसने हरण किया तथा यहाँ तक की समय समय पर अपनी माता कैकसी और पत्नी मंदोदरी को धिक्कारता रहा | स्त्री जाती के अपमान के कारण ही उसे मृत्यु प्राप्त हुई |

मायावी रावण राक्षस प्रवृति का होने के कारण छलि कपटी भी था जिसके कारण वह लंका को कुबेर से छीनने में तथा माता सीता के हरण मैं सफल हुआ | मायावी मारीच की वजह से ही वो सीता जी को हरण करने मैं सफल रहा वर्ना वह तो लक्ष्मण जी की लक्ष्मण रेखा को भी न लांघ पाया था | रावण ने वृद्ध और निहत्थे जटायु को भगवान् शिव के द्वारा दी गयी मायावी तलवार चन्द्रहास से मारकर उनके दिए अस्त्र का दुरूपयोग भी किया | यहाँ तक की रावण ने अपनी ही बहिन सूर्पनखा के पति विधुतजिव्ह की ह्त्या की थी तथा सूर्पनखा ने मन ही मन सोच रखा था की रावण के अंत का कारण वही बनेगी |

रावण विद्वान तथा प्रकांड पंडित तो था किन्तु राक्षस कुल का होने से और अत्यधिक शक्तियों को प्राप्त करने के पश्चात वह अभिमानी होता चला गया | ब्रह्मा जी से मांगे वरदान मैं भी वानर और मनुष्य को छोड़ के उसने बाकी सभी वर्णो से अपने लिए सुरक्षा मांग ली थी | उसे क्या पता था की साधारण मानव तथा वानर ही उसका काल बन जाएंगे जिन्हे वह कीड़े मकोड़ो की भांति तुच्छ समझता था | वरदान के कारण देवी देवता गन्धर्व किन्नर तथा यक्ष भी उसे परास्त नहीं कर सकते थे इसलिए विष्णु भगवान् ने मानव अवतार लेकर प्रभु राम के रूप में दुष्टता के प्रतीक रावण का वध किया तथा कुल समेत संहार करके सम्पूर्ण मानव जाती तथा तीनो लोको का उद्धार किया|

Goddess Gandharva Kinnar and Yaksha also could not defeat him due to boon, so Vishnu God took Ravana as the symbol of wickedness in the form of Lord Rama by taking a human incarnation and killing the family and saving the entire human race.

विद्वान लोग भी अपने कर्मो और उसके परिणामो का विचार नहीं कर पाते ऐसा ही कुछ रावण के साथ हुआ | भगवान् शिव के द्वारा प्राप्त शक्तियों के बल पर अभिमान में वह कैलाश समेत उन्हे लंका ले जाने की चेष्टा करने लगा किन्तु कैलाश के टेढ़ा होने से माता सती फिसलने लगी तब सती ने लंका के जल के काला होने का श्राप दिया और भगवान शंकर ने अपने अंगूठे से कैलाश को दबाया तो लंकापति रावण दबने लगा और उसका घमंड चूर चूर हो गया | अपने दसों सिर तथा बीस भूजाओं के होने का अभिमान टूटते ही चतुर रावण ने तांडव स्त्रोत की रचनाकार भगवान् शंकर की स्तुति की भगवान् शंकर प्रसन्न हो गए तथा अपना भार कम करके रावण को कैलाश पर्वत के नीचे दबने से बचा लिया | रावण की अभिलाषा जानकार शिवजी ने उसे अपने प्रतिबिम्ब के रूप में एक शिवलिंग दिया तथा कहा कि अगर लंका जाते समय तुमने इसे भूमि पर रखा तो यह जहां भी होगा वहीं स्थापित हो जाएगा | वह शिवलिंग लंका को ले जाते समय उसे लघु शंका लगने पर उसने वह शिवलिंग रास्ते में एक गडरिए को देखकर उसको पकड़ा दिया तब शंकरजी ने शिवलिंग का भार बढ़ा दिया | गड़रिये को शिवलिंग भूमि पर रखना पड़ा रावण शिवलिंग को पूरी शक्ति लगाकर भी नहीं उखाड़ पाया तथा समझ गया कि शंकर जी उसके साथ लंका जाना ही नहीं चाहते |

As the pride of his ten heads and twenty arms broke, the clever Ravana praised Lord Shankar, the creator of the Tandava source, Lord Shankar was pleased and reduced his weight and saved Ravana from being buried under Mount Kailash. Shivaji, knowing the wishes of Ravana, gave him a Shivling as his own image and said that if you put it on the ground while going to Lanka, it will be installed wherever it is. While taking Shivalinga to Lanka, when he felt a small doubt, he caught him by seeing a shepherd on the Shivlinga way, then Shankarji increased the weight of Shivlinga. The shepherd had to keep the Shivling on the ground, Ravana could not overthrow the Shivling with full power and understood that Shankar ji does not want to go to Lanka with him.

रावण हमेशा पाप पर पुण्य, असत्य पर सत्य तथा अंधकार पर प्रकाश की विजय का प्रतीक रहा है और रहेगा| मेरा अनुरोध भक्त जनों से केवल इतना है कि पाप को कभी भी महामंडित ना करें अगर हम पाप को इसी प्रकार हम प्रोत्साहित करेंगे तो पुण्य की महिमा कम होती जाएगी और हमारी आने वाली पीढ़ी हमें कभी क्षमा ना करेगी | विद्वान तो आज के आतंकवादी भी हैं तो क्या हम उन्हें हतोत्साहित नहीं करना चाहिए ? हमारी युवा पीढ़ी को जागरूक बनाये रखना क्या हमारा कर्त्तव्य नही ? कौन पिता रावण जैसा पुत्र चाहेगा या कौन सी स्त्री ऐसे पति या भाई का सम्मान करेगी ? ज्ञान होना तथा ज्ञान देना सही है किंतु ऐसा ज्ञान किस काम का जो हमें और हमारे भविष्य को पछतावे के कुँए में धकेल दे | रावण के वध से हमें पाप पर पुण्य की विजय का महत्व और सन्देश का विस्तार अत्यंत जरुरी है | हमें आने वाली पीढ़ियों को कर्म ही प्रधान है समझाना ज़रूरी है क्यूंकि जैसा कर्म करेगा वैसा फल देगा भगवान् , जो महान हैं और रहेंगे वो हैं भगवान् श्री राम और उनके परम भक्त हनुमान |
Ravana has always been and will remain a symbol of the victory of virtue over sin, truth over untruth and light over darkness. My request to devotees is only to never glorify sin. If we encourage sin in this way, then the glory of virtue will decrease and our future generations will never forgive us. Scholars are also terrorists of today, so should we not discourage them? Is it not our duty to keep our young generation aware? Who would want a son like father Ravana or which woman would respect such a husband or brother? It is right to have knowledge and to give knowledge, but what is the use of such knowledge that will push us and our future into the well of regret. With the slaughter of Ravana, we need the importance of the victory of virtue over sin and the expansion of the message. We need to explain to future generations that karma is the main thing because God will give the fruit as karma will do, those who are great and will live are Lord Shree Rama and his supreme devotee Hanuman.
